Natural materials such as bone or horn feel comfortable in the working hands, have a pleasant warmth to the touch (unlike metal or plastic), and are inherently resilient. No wonder human-kind has been manipulating them into tools, weapons, adornments and eating utensils since time began. Our cow horn tatting shuttles have all the advantages of using natural material. Thread will not unwind when shuttles are suspended, but may be sprung through the tightly pinched ends when needed. Translucent golden amber horn is polished to a soft sheen, and glows in the light as it slides through knot after knot with ease. No two are exactly alike. Some are a light yellow hue, some are a darker gold, some contain dark striations characteristic of the animal. The shuttle core is notched at either end and drilled through the center, for thread. #512-25, Horn Tatting Shuttle, * don't miss our Wood Tatting Shuttles and Tatting Shuttles Introduction |
